Feature Request: Lock/Unlock Transform Frame
on: August 03, 2021, 01:11:52 AM
There’s a great feature in Infinite Painter’s transform tool where you can unlock the transform frame from the pixels you are transforming which allows you to move, rotate and distort the frame to better fit the thing you are transforming. It’s great for transforming something you drew at an angle with more control. It would be awesome to see a feature like this implemented in Art Studio Pro.
The interface is a simple lock icon while in transform mode. Ive attached a video of the feature in use in Infinite Painter for reference. Thanks for considering this feature!

I like that, and requested an addition to automatically turn a 4 point selection into a bounding box here: https://www.luckyclan.com/forum/index.php?topic=1915.msg5071#msg5071
BTW: Procreates implementation of that feature is bad, they just rotate the box but you can‘t modify it like in infinite painter

Yes! Thanks for supporting this request, this feature is one of the best things in Infinite Painter. And yeah!-- I was also disappointed that Procreate's implementation doesn't support the level of arbitrary manipulation of the frame that you get with Infinite Painter's version.

That special case in your other thread for a 4 corner selection seems very neat. I'll comment my thoughts on it in your thread!

Still holding out for this feature, I don’t think it made it in yet. Hoping it’s still on the list!

That would be nice! IMO Procreare has a great and simple solution with two handles, one being just to rotate (=pre-transform) the selection bounding box in order to better match the actual orientation of the selection. Whatever the solution, it would be a very useful addition to ASP.
