I suppose I can always export my artwork and then change the resolution in another program such as Affinity Photo, etc. It would be nice to have this built into ArtStudio Pro though, if it isn't already. This is really only a concern when you're planning to print your artwork.

Suggestions, Ideas, Bugs / Change resolution without scaling?
on: September 30, 2025, 07:12:51 PM
Photoshop has a "resample" checkbox in its image scaling options dialog. When checked, the image’s width and height will be preserved when the resolution is increased. This means that the image will be scaled up (i.e. more pixels will be added), which may result in some blurriness.

When the box is unchecked, increasing the resolution will decrease the width and height (i.e. the image dimensions will shrink as the existing pixels are packed closer together).

How do I do the latter in ArtStudio Pro? I want to increase my document’s resolution without scaling it. If this isn't possible then I'd like to formally request this feature.

Thanks!

Currently, users must tap on each layer individually in order to lock or unlock its transparency, pixels and position. It would be great if multiple layers could be selected and lock settings could be applied to all of them simultaneously.

Suggestions, Ideas, Bugs / Custom document presets

It would be great if we could create custom presets to use when creating a new document. I don't believe this is currently possible.

Suggestions, Ideas, Bugs / Brush organization improvements
on: September 30, 2025, 11:46:39 AM
The latest Procreate update (5.4) has introduced a very nice brush management system where brushes can be organized into different groups/collections. It would be wonderful to have something similar in ArtStudio Pro, since I've installed far too many brushes to easily navigate  ;D

I downloaded Notestudio and was happy to see that the floating toolbars are positioned a safe distance away from the iPad Pro's irritating dock swipe-up bar, which Apple doesn't allow you to remove. I spend a lot of time working in Split View and the swipe-up bar is constantly getting in my way. I hear that you're planning to implement the same toolbar system in Artstudio Pro, so please include this improvement if you can. Thank you!

I don't understand how to insert images into posts on this forum, so here's a link. Artstudio Pro is on the left and Notestudio is on the right:

I just purchased Lane Brown's drawing brush pack. In his Photoshop demo video, the brushes are organized into multiple folders. Unfortunately, they all ended up in a single folder when I imported them into Artstudio Pro. So, I thought I'd ask whether there's any way for brush folders to be preserved when importing Photoshop brushes into Artstudio Pro?

Wow, thanks! I don't know how I missed that!

Apologies if this has already been discussed, but it seems like the only way to import an image into a document is to create a "New from photos" document, select all, then copy and paste the image into the original document. It would be great if we could simply import an image directly into a document instead of having to create an entirely new document to copy and paste from. Thanks!

One thing that could be improved is the user interface for configuring keyboard shortcuts. I'm pretty sure that you need to have a physical keyboard connected to your iPad in order to assign the shortcuts. Normally this makes sense, but if you're defining shortcuts for the TourBox to use and you don't plan on using a physical keyboard, then it would be nice if you could define shortcuts using the iPad's software keyboard instead.

As a left-handed user, I think I'd prefer the Brushes, Colours and Layers buttons to be on the left-hand side of my screen instead of the right.  I'm not sure how others feel about this, so maybe it could be a separate option?
