Just checked out the new version of lasso fill as a part of the bucket/pattern fill tools. Its really great! It works within selections, makes logical sense as an extension of the fill tool, and can be used to erase. Its great that you can access it via a simple tool shortcut, and set one of them to eraser mode to quickly switch between fill and erase! And you get blend modes and patterns! Thanks so much for iterating on this feature, taking into account the feedback, and squeezing it in to the 3.1 release!

The new lasso fill is awesome!! Great job! I have one minor question though. Can you make it possible so that I can double tap the apple pencil and switch to eraser while using the bucket fill lasso tool?

Yeah, new lasso fill is definitely better then previous one. This tool is more convenient then on selections.

Bug there though. If you try to color pick with Apple Pencil double tap, nothing happens then App crashes.

Please implement smoothing in this tool, it is very good, but the shape has many irregularities without smoothing.

Is there already, or a way planned to be able to use the polygon selection vs the lasso for fill? I would find that feature really useful.

I wanted to suggest:

-Polygonal lasso fill mode (would be awesome)
-Smoothing
-The ability to Erase with Lasso mode would be really useful.

You already can erase in lasso mode. Just turn on erase blending.

Polygonal lasso and smoothing would be useful though. And smoothing for regular selections would also be good.

A small feature add for lasso fill that I would love is if it obeyed the symmetry options! Right now it ignores symmetry.

I’ve been working on a project and really wished for a polygonal lasso fill tool, would have been very very handy.

Smoothing - it is already there.

Polygon Lasso - Just tap-tap-tap instead of drawing, and you will be able to draw a polygon.

Symmetry - we will add it soon.
