Importing Procreate Brushes Question
on: November 05, 2021, 09:22:59 AM
The Procreate brush community has exploded in the past couple of years with a lot of cool and interesting brushes. Since Artstudio Pro and Procreate are able to import abr (photoshop) brushes, I was wondering if it would be possible to import procreate brushes into Artstudio Pro sometime in the future. Would that be difficult to do? I'm not really sure how compatible both brush engines are. If it's too difficult, I'm fine with just using photoshop brushes.

I’m not sure, but I think procreate brushes format is closed one. So, there is no documentation about it.

Abr is closed as well, however there are a lot of reverse engineering libraries that can open abr files.

The bigger problem is that procreate brush engine is much different, so it would be hard to achieve similar results. Besides in many cases brush stamp images in procreate brushes are often taken from procreate app (they are not included in brush file).
