This idea is borrowed from the app Concepts which has a unique way of adding layers. There is an autolayer feature which is triggered by simply selecting a different tool to use. For example…if you select the paint brush ASP could automatically generate a layer corresponding to that tool selected. When switching to the wet paint tool or the smudge tool causes ASP to generate a new layer for that tool selected. The benefit of this becomes apparent because this allows the user to more easily select different layers without getting confused over which layer had the tool you used previously.
