Suggestion: Smudge tool in selections
on: May 25, 2021, 08:39:27 AM
Right now in ASP and in many other painting apps also smudge tool doesn’t count selection while it works. I know, smudge tool starts to drag color from the point when you start your stroke. But that’s look strange as we want to paint only in selected area.

Suggestion is to use closest color to the selection’s border if you stroke goes close to the border or even started outside from selection.

If you google this request, many artists want this behavior from selection + smudge tool.

Thanks.

I understand this.
The problem is that Smudge can be treated as a special mode of Wet Paint tool.

So you think it should be changed in both Smudge and Wet Paint?

I don’t use wet paint brushes, but I think it can be implemented to it too, because if you make selection, that means you want to paint only in it. If you want outside selection pixels being affected, just make selection a bit bigger or deselect it at all.

Will you be able to make the changes in the next major update or will it be a lot further down? Either way, thank you for taking this into consideration.
