WTF is Apple doing?
on: May 18, 2021, 04:59:33 PM
Every time I open Appstore and browse the art/creativity section I can't see Artstudio Pro anywhere. Are they knowingly excluding one of the best pro art-apps in the store? I really get pissed every time Artstudio is missing in the list. Procreate is a good app but you can't do non destructive painting in it, just paint in layers and no way to fine-tune them with adjustment layers. That's not pro, it's basic. Even a My little pony painting app gets on the list. To me that's shady as hell. Am I wrong about this or are there others that gets this feeling?  :-\

It seems editors working in Apple prefer other apps… it is their personal choice.

If they are running an exclusive appstore they should be neutral. If not, the market gets twisted and developers and companies may suffer from unfair competition. In the worst scenario, risk of corruption. My images, in the show your work gallery, are free to use for marketing Artstudio Pro, if you think you can use them. I have some uploaded as Endoraniendo and Andreas Raninger. Some are linked to Artstation. I'm trying to show other matte/concept artists what can be done in ASP and that Photoshop is not the only application out there. "All" ASP users are free to contact me on Facebook through Messenger if they have questions about how I do things in ASP. I'm just happy to share my knowledge and help aspiring artists. If not interested in how I do things, we can always be friends. :)

Great! If you want something special painted for marketing purpose, just send me a message and I paint it for free.

The fact that if you search for “Art” in the App Store, which is literally in the name of the app, and you don’t see ArtStudio after several minutes of scrolling past arcade games that have nothing to do with art, is pretty obnoxious and unfair.

I’m convinced they’re suppressing ArtStudio because they know it’s insanely more powerful than procreate’s gimmicky nonsense.

I don’t have any artwork you could use promotionally(adult artist), but I’ll definitely recommend the app on my accounts(thousands of followers) when people ask what program I use. I’ve done so quite a few times already.

Pretty sure I’ve made some sales. :D

Yeah. Me too.
As I watched the Appstore I noticed that Artstudio Pro is trending in graphic and design as an outstanding photo editor. Do they really test the apps they review? Photoshop was "The complete editing tool" WTF? Well, I could go on forever but now my dog is eating my drawing glove and I have to go hunting before it gets chewed up.

On the contrary, we should thank you for creating Artstudio Pro, making it professional and stable. As I said in the review on the appstore, it's a piece of art of itself.

I got really surprised by the build quality of ASP after a while using it. You add functionality and there are no bugs or regressions of real matter when you implement them. To me that is a solid, well thought out codebase that is easy to maintain and build on for future expansions.
