Again I work with very large files, often 11x17in or 16x20in in 300dpi, often with layers that number at least in the triple digits when I'm done. I've never had significant lagging or crashing in blending or elastify since the last crash-fest I reported, so this is definitely something new as of 3.1.3 or 3.1.4. It sounds like a classic memory leak especially since it takes actions to build up. I can leave the app sitting open for an hour and it won't crash if I don't make any changes to the canvas. If I work slower, the app crashes less frequently.

3.1.5 might have fixed some of the memory leak, since it's crashing less often now, but it still crashes. Also, might be related to this issue: https://www.luckyclan.com/forum/index.php?topic=2192.0

Just wondering if this might be getting looked into?

It's still happening very often; not sure if Elastify is the culprit or the victim because it's completely unusable right now and crashes the app about 1 in 3 times. Every time I attempt to make a mark on the canvas the app stops recording the mark almost immediately, and takes about 30 seconds to animate the minuscule movement it recorded.

Even without using elastify it's still crashing very often, I just happen to need elastify very badly right now and am kind of stuck. Also in a little bit of panic mode because it's approaching the end of the semester and I need to either figure out another app or deal with the crashing or I will fail classes.

tried making a canvas with the data you gave, and tried lowering the opacity of the default layer, and its super sluggy :( tried different things but didnt crash, but only had bg layer and transparent layer. My ipad is 12.9 2018 tho. The last time i crashed the sliders felt this sluggy so dunno, probably there is something wrong

I'm trying to reproduce and fix that, but everything looks ok...

I fixed few mem leaks last days, so maybe version 3.1.6 will be better.

ps. Do you think the lagging/crashing started happening in version 3.1.4?

I missed the 3.1.3 update, but 3.1.2 definitely had no issues.

Could you give me your email? I will then send you a new beta version. Maybe it is fixed there...

Tested for about three hours, nine crashes recorded, on average, after 15-18 minutes of drawing. Two were on manual save, three were when opening the layers panel, and the others were either while drawing or just after using transform or elastify.

Did you beta version?
Can you record a video from app launch to crash?

It seems the crash is caused my low memory (elastify, save use a lot of memory).
And it probably happens on rather old devices, like iPad 10.5 from 2017.

I suppose it is caused by some memory leak, but cannot reproduce it.
It may happen after using some options, however i need a video that will show how do you work with the app.

So it would be very helpful is somebody send me a Screen Recording showing the artstudio from app start to crash.
Please enable Preferences > Interface > Visualize Touches so i can see all events.

I am trying to get that recording, but it seems like my ipad stopped recording before the crash happened... Will try a different way to record today

Ipad model: https://support.apple.com/kb/SP762?locale=en_US
Crash video: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1DZAgiib9RUg4f2Jk6iz3O_4md5RMOng9/view?usp=sharing
I can get a few more of elastify and warp, if needed, and can send this file + my stress test files
