Suggestions, Ideas, Bugs / Re: Shortcuts

There doesn't seem to be nearly a many people using the Mac version as the iPad version and it doesn't seem to get the same attention.

I love that the pigment mixing is making it's way over, but I've asked lots of questions about the Mac version that never get answered. Not sure how to get that changed...

Depending on all your settings, you may have to lift the pen and "stroke again rather than just brushing back and forth without lifting the pen.

Also, make sure your layer have Normal blending mode.

Plating around with the desktop version, the pigment mixing works great!

The one thing I noticed, is it takes a very light touch to get the mixing to work. If you press just a little too hard, it doesn't really mix.

I'm sure I'm being picky, though.

Any idea how to have reference images open in the desktop version?

I wish I could at least open two documents side by side.

I guess there's not too many people who use the desktop version. that's a shame because it's a very good app.

I know in ArtRage it just "does it" (pigment mixing). I don't think there's a way to turn in on or off. Same I think for Painter, and even Paintstorm Studio.

Rebelle Pro has a button you click and then I think, once again, it's just "on" everywhere, all the time.

Some use a separate palette to mix on, as well. This is where having the ability to open two documents side by side (or, at least, independent of each other) would be great. Right now (in the desktop version at least) you can only see one open document at a time, which is not really helpful in any situation as far as I can tell.

Help / ASP: Desktop: How/Where do I bring in a reference image?
on: February 03, 2023, 03:04:49 PM
Similar to my other question, but where can I bring in a reference image into ASP on the desktop?

There seems to be different options on the IOS version as opposed to the desktop version.

Thanks.

Will this be implemented in both the desktop and iPad version?

Help / Re: Where is the color wheel on the mac app?

I've been trying to push the Mac desktop version because I do think it's very good. The developer said sales were slow for it, so it wasn't getting as much attention as others.

I, too, can make a list of improvements that would boost sales, I would think.

One thing I find is a big boost that no one mentions is it's near flawless import of Photoshop brushes. I've only had to make a few tweaks to the many I've imported.

I'm also trying out ArtRage and Krita (I primarily use Photoshop) and I have spend hours in those pother apps to get my PS brushes to work, and haven't been able to.

One major thing I find odd about ASP is I can't easily use a reference image. You can't have documentys open side by side and you can't have a separate reference window you can color pick from.

I'm using the desktop version of ASP, so I don't know if there's the same thing in the iOS version, but under the Layer drop down and Layer palette, there's an option for Reference. I've selected it, but not sure what it does? It doesn't seem to do anything?

I was hoping that it would make it possible to open a reference image into a separate window (which would be something to hopefully add i the future)

Any insight would be appreciated!

Suggestions, Ideas, Bugs / ASP For Mac Separate Section?
on: January 17, 2023, 04:28:40 PM
I was wondering if it's worth having a separate section for the desktop version of ASP.

I have the desktop version and many times the IOS and Mac versions are very different. For instance, the manual is for the IOS and I have questions that aren't answered there.

I don't own the iOS version, just the desktop, so I can't compare, but why do you think the desktop version is underwhelming?

Personally, I use it just for painting. I don't use it as a Photoshop replacement as far as image enhancement work or anything like that.

I love the brush engine. I've brought in some PS brushes I' ve bought and some I made myself and with a few tweaks, some work better in ASP than they do in PS.

One thing I miss and it's a little cumbersome to overcome, is the ability to open reference images. There's a free app called PureRef tha can do the trick, but it would be nice to have it in ASP.
