Suggestions, Ideas, Bugs / Re: Editing favorite brush
on: January 19, 2019, 04:44:40 PM
In the iosversion, clicking the + icon on the top gives the ability to create a new brush, but it uses the properties of the brush selected. This has to be taken into account, and can be useful. If you want to strat from scratch you could probably use a brush from the basic category as a base.

For the color this could be useful, for the brush not so much for me. I would rather have an eraser button there, that would automatically make the current brush erase. Cclicking the button again would set it back to normal.

Suggestions, Ideas, Bugs / Gradient map bug on mac os

I have trouble using the gradient map feature in the mac version of artstudio pro. The window to edit the gradient is somehow faulty, and only displays a very small part of the graph, which makes it unusable, unfortunately. See the screenshot to know what I mean.

On iOS everything works fine.

Procreate offers this kind of snapping when using the quickline/quickshape, using increments of 15 degrees when putting a finger on the canvas.

Clip Studio offers the ability to set the "step of angle" for the line tools, which can be set to any angle. If this option is checked it will only draw on these angles. Clip studio has the option for other shape tools as well, for instance it is possible to draw a rectangle with the rectangle tool, then specify the angle it is set at. This angle can be constrained to any angle you wish.

I would like to see kind of snapping to angles when using the line option on a brush. Either by setting it to a specific angle like 15 %, or by constraining it using a modifier key. In the ipad version this could be another finger on the canvas.

that is good to know, thanks!  :)

Suggestions, Ideas, Bugs / Request: rescaling by percentage
on: January 11, 2019, 08:22:51 AM
I think it would be useful to have the option to scale with a percentage value. This way I can easily make things exactly half or a third the size. Now I can only manipulate the pixel value, but then I have to calculate the value myself, which is not very practical.

Thank you for your quick reply. Multiple copy/paste would be an improvement already

I really love Artstudio Pro, especially on the ipad. There is one particular thing that I think can and should be improved: the brush management. The first thing that is annoying is that I have multiple brush sets installed, but switching from one set to another takes a few seconds every time, and longer if the group is large. Almost everything in the app is fast (drawing, pinch zoom and rotate etc) but this really breaks the flow. I hope this can somehow be sped up, to be more like it is in procreate.

I could work around this first part though if I could easily make smaller sets with all the necessary brushes, but this brings me to the second problem: trying to reorganise the brushes, by putting brushes from different sets in one of my own is really slow and difficult to do. The only way I found is to copy the brush I have selected, open the new group and paste it in there. I can only do it one by one, so I have to keep switching sets, which takes a few seconds to load each time, select a brush, copy, switch sets again, paste...
I was working on putting a set together on my mac yesterday, which took me quite a long time, then I just wanted to rename the set — but pushed the button just below it, which deletes it!? There was no confirmation message, all the work I had just done was gone  :(

As you can see this is not a great workflow. And as ArtStudio is primarily a drawing and painting app, I think this is pretty crucial to improve this.

There could be different ways in which this could be improved:
- Most intuitive would be drag and drop between sets, if this can be done fast, and preferably with multiple items.
- A "preset" manager like photoshop where I can organize my brush sets
- An option to in the brush dropdown menu to copy a brush to a particular set (I don't know if iOS supports this, I have seen things like this on mac

Whichever way you choose: I sincerely hope you can put this issue on the priority list, as it is the greatest annoyance in an app that is really top class.

Thank you

Suggestions, Ideas, Bugs / Re: Some small subjection

1. Fill tools Option : can be fill expand or contract in number inputs.

I would appreciate something like this, especially when used with a line art layer. It makes it faster to create color fills that go under the line art. This could either be done by having the option to automatically increase the wand selection by a set amount of pixels, or have this option for the fill tool as well. This last option would be very powerful in combination with the reference layers which you want to implement as well, I believe. This kind of functionality is already present in Clip Studio and Medibang, as it is very useful for comics.

Thank you, that would be a great timesaver

Suggestions, Ideas, Bugs / additional drawing mode: curve
on: January 07, 2019, 03:40:31 AM
I would like to see the addition of a curve drawing mode: it would work similar to the line mode, but after establishing start and end point, it allows the curve to be created by dragging.
