im indifferent to this change i guess but the seizure angle is a bit strange, you don't really have to worry about that at all
unless they manage to somehow mash the quick menu like 10 times a second people with photosensitive epilepsy will be totally fine

i find that artstudio imports photoshop brushes spectacularly :)

I see and feel it too with the brushes I use, something's definitely not right.
And it's not different sensitivities between the two, I made sure to make it the same

Suggestions, Ideas, Bugs / Re: Outdated autosave system

faster autosave sounds really nice! I have to wonder though, if that means there's no possibility for a constant autosave after every step? Even if autosave is faster, people will still lose progress on crashes because it doesn't trigger unless you stop working. This was my main problem, if I'm in the middle of working and I've been doing it constantly for the past 30 minutes and it crashes then I lose all the time I spent working since the last autosave. It is extremely frustrating but I guess I will just have to get in the habit of saving manually.

Suggestions, Ideas, Bugs / Outdated autosave system

I think the current autosave implementation is pretty outdated. Artstudio only autosaves after every certain period of time, minimum of one minute.
1. If working on a large file, autosave can take an annoyingly long time to finish. It pauses everything and you have to wait until it's done.

2. Artstudio delays autosave if you're painting, only saving when you aren't doing anything. This sort of makes sense because if it interrupted you every single minute it would be incredibly obtrusive. However this can be annoying because say I work 10 minutes nonstop and the app crashes, throughout those 10 minutes it doesn't autosave a single time, so I'm back 10 minutes.

So my question is why doesn't artstudio autosave seamlessly after every step? I hope it has the capability of implementing this as it would solve every single problem, and I think this is what every software out there does except Artstudio.

After looking at the beta, I figured I'd give my vote to the thinner sidebar, whatever it may be worth  :P

Keeping it the same as elastify is not really an argument for this change, since you spend less than a percent of actual drawing time in elastify, so it's okay for the UI to take up space during that time. In the other 99.~% while I'm drawing I'd prefer it to take up as least space as possible. Honestly I've never struggled with the sliders so I guess your point of view seems foreign to me.

As for nudge mode, maybe? I've never had that much of a problem with the issue this would solve, I use three finger swipe to adjust brush size and it's pretty easy to nudge brush size by very slightly moving your fingers. Maybe this could solve both your problems?

What apps do you mean?
Off the top of my head there's Clip Studio Paint which uses animation folders, and there's Photoshop and Krita which let you include multiple cels inside of a layer!

24
We will not do it in a near future. Remember Artstudio is mainly drawing/painting app, not an animation app.

Ah, thank you for your consideration, that's unfortunate but I understand. I just hope that this is not the sole reasoning keeping it from being implemented, because there are a few heavily drawing and painting focused software that branched out into animation which have this feature.

25
is anyone else experiencing this transform/elastify opacity bug? it's avoidable by closing the animation panel but i dont think it's intended

26
I agree, this feature is what separates toy animation software from more authentic ones.
I do not envy the person who has to implement it though... I really hope it could be compatible!

+1 this wholeheartedly.
Like you said, I'm not sure if I'm missing some kind of feature but it seems that there's no way to quickly adjust multiple specific layers at once without making an adjustment layer, duplicating it for every layer, clipping mask and then merging with each one which takes a rather long time.
It seems like the script you linked also allows for applying the adjustment layer only for selected layers, so it would solve this problem as well!

The biggest two features will be:
- animations
- vector pen tool
Animating on artstudio sounds like a dream... depending on how thorough you want to be with it, there's an app I could recommend you look at called callipeg which is focused entirely on animation. Though I know adding an elaborate animation interface is probably unrealistic, so even a simple frame by frame animation option is something I'd really be looking forward to!

oh woops i misunderstood, yeah +1 to this, it would be really helpful with values

it's there for me...
