Suggestions, Ideas, Bugs / Colour Sample with Pencil (iPad)
on: February 22, 2018, 07:29:10 AM
I find that selecting a colour using the 'long-press' with the Adobe Pencil often does not work; instead it lays down a mark of existing colour.
Video shows this. (Successful only on 3rd attempt each time - but it often needs more attempts).

Prefs... Zoomed Eyedropper: OFF
           Eyedropper delay: 0.4

Which app supports these modes?
I think Nighternet might be referring to Affinity Photo

Suggestions, Ideas, Bugs / Edit > Transform Questions (iOS)
on: February 20, 2018, 08:02:42 AM
I really like the amount of options and control available in Transform mode, but...

   a. In Rotate Mode, why must it also re-size when using the 'grab-rings' to rotate?. We need that mode to rotate without re-sizing.
   b. Angle and Offset can be defined numerically and reset, but Scale cannot (only by pixel numbers, not % of original).
   c. Could the 'nudge' buttons be made to transform continuously if we press and hold?

And... Please could you explain what Preferences > Canvas Rotate Threshold is? I can see no effect if on or off.

Thank you

Suggestions, Ideas, Bugs / Brush Settings (iPad)
on: February 05, 2018, 10:32:35 AM
Important, I think...

Why does a brush (A) lose any custom-applied settings if we change to another (B), then return to (A)?

If we want to make maybe several temporary changes (not permanently, by creating a new variant) we have to remember and then re-create those changes every time we switch to different brush and back again?

Would it not be possible to : retain any custom changes until a Reset Button (in Gear-Wheel options) is selected? (Maybe Reset Current Brush and Reset All)? In other words: only Reset when we choose to?

Suggestions, Ideas, Bugs / Brushes Palette (iPad)
on: February 05, 2018, 10:01:56 AM
Comments: (ArtStudio Pro - iPad)

Brushes Palette:

If my understanding is correct....

I think the "Save" command (which shows after Add Current) should be  "Save as New Group".

Two things are unclear:
"Save" does not refer to Brushes but to Groups;
"Save" does not save the active group - it creates a new, duplicated group, where the only difference is the new brush from "Add Current". (I think this explains how I came to have e.g Basic Modified 1 and Basic Modified 2).
Very confusing.

Also... it is not made clear that we need to change to the intended destination group before we click 'Add Current'.
Probably too complex, but.... Could not "Add Current" be "Save As New Brush" with list of groups then to select destination Group?

Suggestions, Ideas, Bugs / 3 Suggestions (iPad version)
on: February 05, 2018, 09:13:22 AM
Hi...

Some thoughts maybe to consider? (ArtStudio Pro - iPad)

   1) AutoSave pop-up still v. intrusive. Is it not possible perhaps to have option to hide completely?

   2) Selection Tool/s: Would it be possible to have the 3 view modes (Marching Ants, Quick Mask, None) available from an Arrow-Up sub-menu on the bottom bar? (Or at least in the Bottom Bar > More menu)?

   3) Slight thought: Layer > Enable as Mask would be clearer? (As it is, it might mean: enable a mask to be created for this layer).

Suggestions, Ideas, Bugs / Re: Layer Disappeared
on: January 31, 2018, 05:44:04 AM
I've tried over past few days to reproduce the disappearing layer. But have not seen it happen again.

The issue of Layer Thumbs not refreshing is always there. e.g Moving a Layer does not (always) get updated in the thumb.

Sometimes it will update after a while in the same session; sometimes only when file or App is re-opened; sometimes never (as in the Test ArtStudio file I send here).

I opened this file in Desktop version and found same non-updating.

Suggestions, Ideas, Bugs / Layer Disappeared
on: January 25, 2018, 09:06:08 AM
iPad version 1.0.10

Please see attached screenshot.

My steps:
4 equal squares.
Wanted to swap top and bottom (to see how pattern aligned).
Moved topleft 4 part down (to still have a grip on it after moving 5 to top)
Moved 5 to top.
Moved 4 to bottom. Layer thumbnail in Palette showed it still at part-way down.
Closed palette, switched and moved other layers: no change to thumbnail.
Closed file.
Re-opened to find thumbnail still at half-way,  but layer content (4) had disappeared. Not hidden under any other layers.
Nothing restored it. Thumbnail remains even after closing, re-opening file.

Can't say if/when AutoSave happened, but at no time had I deleted the Layer 4 anyway.

(Have noticed before Palette thumbnail does not update, but never known layer to disappear).

Hope this of use.

ALSO (while on the subject) ...
2 Suggestions for Layers...

...Ability to select (Layers Palette) more than one Layer - other than having to make Group, individually move into Group (and then maybe later unGroup).
...In Select Menu, a command to 'Select Layer'  (Active Layer).

ArtStudio Pro - OS X version 1.0.5 (83)

Early thoughts...

   i) Option to hide icon for active tool (retaining size/location cursor) would be useful.
ii) Bucket Fill: if text-entry made (opacity, tolerance), cannot release cursor (e.g for Shortcut keys). (Similarly - Layer Opacity).
iii) Cmd+H and Q keys would be very useful for show/hide selection marquee/quickmask. (With UnHide as default for new; e.g Cmd+A needs to have visible effect).
iv) Clone Tool: (Align mode) Would be useful if, after brushing first portion, the Source Cross-Cursor moved  along with the CloneBrush itself to continually show the current Source pickup position. (At present, that only changes after next brushing is begun).
   v) File>Open Recent shows only asp files, not those previously exported as other formats.
vi) Rotate Canvas doesn't seem to work at all?   ***EDIT: Sorry, I now see there is a switch to allow this in Prefs
