It takes any press as a long-press it seems. That's a perfect example of the travesty of playing with long-short, double - two single, etc. I was talking in the other post: unpredictable behavior. I have the latest beta.

Sorry, can't attach the layered ASP file here. Here is a side-by-side of what happens when you merge. Top layers were "hard light" and "add". Even having an empty "normal" at the bottom didn't make any difference (in Photoshop it does). You can certainly try it yourself.

Much more important would be the ability to merge layers with different blend modes and not 100% opacity, so the result matches exactly what you see. Merging them to a 100% normal yields a completely different result. Currently for this one has to add a bottom copy of the background with "normal" 100% and masked to the merging layers alpha (simply merging with the background is not an option, since you'd loose alpha). Simply duplicating the background layer and clipping mask it doesn't work, because upper layer can't clip one below.

I wasn't talking about natural moving. I was referring to the bug, when reference point doesn't stick where defined, but moves to the tip of the pencil the moment pencil touches the surface. It doesn't happen when it's selected with the pencil (but it's hard, since app doesn't recognize long pencil press as clone reference selection).

All Photoshop blend modes are pretty much there. There are powerful modes, not the Photoshop ones: average, negation, contrast negate, reflect, glow. Average is the most useful.

1. Most people most the time use both hands while doing it digitally.
2. If one is affraid to accidently touch it, it can be removed. Nobody is painting in the bottom low corner without moving it to the center.
3. We already use enough gestures. Zoom and rotate are crucial, the rest are not.

This offset thing messes up many things, when you use pencil (don't know about finger mode). Most noticeable clone brush current layer. Selecting a reference point with the finger doesn't stay. I have to move it with the tip of the pencil to stay while drawing elsewhere. Already wrote about wet brush.

Solved it. It goes away if you turn on the offset in prefs and specify 0,0 offset.

Wet brush doesn't work properly in 1.1. It offsets the stroke (without any offset selected in the prefer, and with pencil) and doesn't automatically pick the active color. Sorry, video doesn't record this.

I know it's an old and tired topic, but I'm just interested to know why mobile device artists (and developers consequently) prefer all those double and triple taps, tap-and-hold and other finger acrobatics of a performing piano player to a simple programmable ALT key. There are SO MANY THINGS can be solved by having it somewhere in the bottom left corner. Turning a brush into eyedropper or eraser, or smear brush would be the most obvious choices for those who work with two hands. Not very useful if you hold your iPad in your other hand though, but you can sure lay it down on your lap or afford a $20 mini stand. Haven't seen any app developer using it. Except, perhaps, for the Paintstorm. A powerful app, with interesting UI ideas, that, like many others, disappeared into the bug-infested heap.

Trying to figure out why would one need to mirror the canvas all the time. You can flip it or any layer or selection if you want. Unless you, like Leonardo, try to cipher your writings with the mirror  :).

Agree. Thumbnail. Or, maybe even better, a quick preview of 100%. Like press left bottom button to see it, release to go back to whatever you work on. 100% view is absolutely essential when you work on acanvas that is much larger than your screen.

I wasn't talking about some sophisticated image analysis algorithms. Just posterize it to the user specified # of colors, then turn them into a palette. Similarly with pixelation.

Non-destructive horizontal flip is used a lot by Photoshop artists, because they can't rotate the canvas. It's totally useless on iPad.
