Help / Re: How to change keyboard shortcuts (Mac)
on: February 21, 2023, 04:15:49 PM
I asked this question a while ago and got an answer from the team. :)  You can customize shortcuts available in the top menu in System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > App Shortcuts

Help / Re: Any options to rotate the brush angle?
on: February 21, 2023, 04:11:20 PM
Yes, it isn’t as visual but you can find the setting under “Stamp” in brush settings. Scroll to the bottom and you’ll find the “Angle” setting.

I believe I’ve found a bug… For the past few months, I have been experiencing an issue while drawing where random brush stamps appear on my screen. I have tried disabling touch, but that didn't solve the problem.

I have also noticed that this usually generates on the outer edges of the layer I'm working on at the time, and it occurs even when I'm zoomed in too. I only notice the brush stamps when I zoom out again. It's frustrating to have to erase these random stamps periodically, and it happens regardless of the brush I use. Moreover, the stamps always correspond to the brush I am using at the time.

I waited a couple updates to see if it would resolve naturally. I’ve also tried closing the app and restarting my iPad. At this point, all I can do is report it. Thanks in advance to the extermination team.  ;)

Here’s a screenshot of what the setting looks like in case you’re more visual like me.

+1

It would also be nice if your custom names displayed when they were selected via keyboard shortcut. :)

This is a great idea, I’ve noticed this behavior too. +1

Yes there is! :D  Open your brush settings, select “Stamp,” scroll down till you see the “Angle” setting and adjust accordingly.

I would recommend checking out skin tone palettes on Pinterest. You can download the images and color pick and save your favorite combinations as ASP palettes. You can also save some of your favorite artists art and study what colors they typically use and make your own palettes that way too. :)

I like this idea! It does feel a little clunky when entering and escaping. Another idea is to have a little button on the top right (or somewhere where you open can hit it easily). Infinite painter and Vectornator have buttons like these that are designed to be easily activated/deactivated.

There is a way to do this, it’s just accessed through your Mac settings, on your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, click Keyboard in the sidebar (you may need to scroll down), then click Keyboard Shortcuts on the right. Select App Shortcuts on the left, click the Add button, click the Application pop-up menu, then choose ASP and customize from there.

This might be slightly different depending on your Mac version, so someone correct me if I’m wrong. It’s been a bit since I played around with the Mac version of ASP.

@LuckyClan I have yet to utilize he multi-document feature for comic pages. That would definitely improve my workflow. I just posted a suggestion about implementing a page assist panel option, much like your animation panel, but for pages. This would be especially great for exporting to pdf/multi page psd for print.

I was wondering if there are any plans for multiple page support for ASP? This would be great for making multiple page comics/webcomics, digital sketchbooks, and making multi-page pdf import and export possible.

Many other art apps have a feature like this, some better than others. I like the way Affinity Publisher and Clip Studio Paint handle this vs Procreate’s annoying page assist that sits right at the bottom of the screen. It isn’t movable and can’t be hidden so it gets in the way of your hand a lot. In fact, they do this with their animation assist too.

I’m really happy that ASPs animation panel doesn't get in your way. Maybe we could see a “pages panel” in the future? Like the animation panel, each layer and/or group would be a page.

+1 I agree, this would be a nice feature! The less button pressing I have to do, the better. :)
