Then what was the point of having the option to blend with current and below layers for? There’s even a blend all layers option in there. I’ve always used current layer anyway but still was wondering how the blend current and below layer was supposed to work because i’ve never seen this done in an art piece. i’ve always used layers for masking…never for smudging colors as the only one that does this successfully is Clipstudio Paint…and that’s a high bar to reach.

At some point there’s going to come a time when users of these apps will have to sit down and decide which subscription to pay for. And for me, it’s Clipstudio Paint. I was happy to use Artstudio Pro for a while but when I compare the feature sets between these two it’s no comparison. Clipstudio Paint is way ahead in feature set and abilities. It has a superior layout and better color palette support that Artstudio Pro simply doesn’t have. For this reason alone my choice has been made for me. So if I’m forced between push and shove…I’m sticking with Clipstudio Paint. I’m deleting Artstudio Pro soon. Now if Procreate does the same thing I’ll have to sit down once again and make the same cold hard decision which app to stick to if I’m forced to pay annual fees for something I purchased. Most important in that decision will be file support…and Artstudio Pro simply doesn’t have that much file support that can be converted to. Not to mention brush library support is way behind Procreate.

I haven’t been on the forums in a while because i’ve had issues with my health and other concerns. But now I’ve come back to digital art creation because of a new concern…inflation eating away my ability to purchase watercolor tubes of paint and other price increases causing me to back away from physical art work. This is now becoming a serious problem and it’s forcing me to become more attuned to the problems in digital art design and one issue I’m seeing right now involves Artstudio Pro and that is the program is still too darn confusing to look for different tools to get things done. I’m forced to go back to Procreate because I can easily find the Liquify tool instantly when I need to do quick work on an object while drawing. Using this as a baseline example…I can’t for the life of me find the liquify tool instantly on Artstudio Pro to do the same job. I have to hunt it down on the numerous menu selections to figure out where this is. You guys need to overhaul the program to simplify where we can find the most basic tools and hide the confusing menus but still allow us to find those items by making it intuitive to find when we need it. Borodante mentions this issue constantly in his Youtube reviews of Artstudio Pro and these concerns are still valid and still need fixing.
