I never did hear back from admin. But, it started working again correctly on Weds. 12/18/2024.

I am also experiencing problems. I think this latest update has some flaws because I can’t fix the problems. The main one is that anti aliasing doesn’t seem to work. And, there is no way to adjust it. I get jagged lines with my brush strokes. It renders the app virtually unusable for fine work. And, I cannot get a response from anyone at admin!

In case it’s hard to read, the caption is:

I just saw that the latest version is 5.2.3 and was released about a week ago. That is right when my brush lines became jagged. It looks like an anti aliasing problem to the best of my understanding.

This inability to draw a smooth line is rendering the entire app unusable.

I’ve left several messages but have received no replies. I’m hoping this can be addressed soon.

This is the latest notice on this page and is nearly 3 years old. I am currently using version 5.2.3.
Is there a newer version? If so, how can I update?

With a little research, I learned that what I’m experiencing is called aliasing. It’s when the edges of a line follow pixels rather than blend to a smooth edge.

There is supposed to be an anti aliasing function somewhere. But, I have not been able to find it. A much earlier response (a couple years ago) from Admin stated that the brush tool created the anti aliasing effect. But, mine does not.

Just recently, my lines started being jagged instead of smooth. Sample attached. I think I may have done something to cause this, but cannot figure out what. Does anyone know what happened and how to fix this?
Thanks,
Rob

Help / Re: Extremely jittery lines

Hyperflex,

Did you ever solve the jittery line problem? After nearly 2 years using the program, I am having that same problem. I don't know what is causing it. Haven't been able to figure it our yet. Everything was fine. Then suddenly it went crazy on my. Obviously, I did something. But I don't have the slightest idea what.
Thanks,
Rob

In case you can’t read the caption, it is: The moment Lenny realized he would never be a biker.

I just reread my response and realized that it was not the answer that was called for.

Help / Re: Grid selection grayed out
on: November 21, 2024, 01:45:12 AM
I figured it out! I had accidentally clicked “show helpers” and unchecked it. That’s what was causing selection of grids to gray out. Once I clicked Show Helpers the grid selections became available again. This is one weird quirk. I wonder why it was designed that way?

Help / Grid selection grayed out
on: November 21, 2024, 01:36:40 AM
I’ve used the grid selection many times on many projects. Now, suddenly, I click on view/show and all the grid selections are grayed out. But, only for this one project. All my other projects show the selection and the grid when I click on it. What could possibly be causing the grid not to work on this project?

Help / Re: Organizing your library of work
on: November 18, 2024, 07:37:45 PM
Lots of views on this question, but no replies. However, I figured it out on my own…over much frustration and effort.

First, I was using the “Recents” tab in place of the Document Browser page. I didn’t even know there were two separate pages for that. They look almost identical. But, you cannot add a folder to the Recents page. You can add a folder to the Document Browser page.

You’ll find the Recents tab on the left hand side of the screen. But, you get to the Document Browser page, you need to click on “I Cloud Drive”. Also located on the left hand side of the screen.

When you’ve done that, look for the forward/backward arrows toward the top left of your screen. Click those until you get to a page with all your documents on it. See the image attached. The title of the page is Artstudio Pro.

You will se a file icon with a + at the top. Click that to create a folder. Then name it.

To add a document to it, find the document you wish to add and hold the icon until a menu drops down. From that menu, choose Move. Your new folder will show up. Click Move again and it will move to the folder.

Help / Creating folders in the document browser
on: November 18, 2024, 01:26:44 AM
Is is possible to create folders in the document browser in order to organize documents by category? I cannot find any instructions on how to do this.

NOTE:
I have figured this out since posting this question. There were a couple things at play.
First, I was using the “Recents” page instead of the File Browser. They look almost identical, so easy to mix up. To find the File Browser, you must click on the i Cloud Drive prompt on the left side of the screen. The Recents prompt is also on the left side of the screen above the I Cloud Drive location. When you click on I Cloud Drive, look for the back and forward arrows on the upper left. Click until you get a page with all your files on it. It will be called Artstudio Pro. (See attached image)

Then, there is a file icon with a + at the top of the page. Click on that and a folder will appear. Give it a name.

Then, choose a file to go into the new folder. Hold your finger on the file you want to move into the folder until a menu drops down. From that menu click “move”.

The rest is pretty intuitive.
