I have a few psd brushes that use the 'initial direction' property to set the angle of the brush. would LOVE something similar in ASP 

If you haven’t tried, Id suggest using a black and white adjustment layer... I do this a lot when painting quite a bit! It’s actually a little better than using greyscale imo, because greyscale tends to lighten values

A few quick things I thought of while using ASP the other day:

Perspective Guides
I was using the perspective guides last week.. really powerful feature!! I hadn't seen them before, I would say it would be nice to edit the perspective guides while creating them (like picking their color/thickness).

Brush Creation
I scoped out the procreate beta and I have to say, I think ASP does a much better job with Abr imports.. and honestly the brush engine in general, to me, feels way better in Art Studio than procreate, so cheers! I do like procreate's brush studio in the way you can kind of mess with a brush and see changes on a scratch pad to the right. Makes brush creation a bit easier.

Color harmony
I know I've said it before but it would be really nice to have color harmonies / gamut lock for the color palette.

Freeform Guides/rulers
I'm not exactly sure how to explain this, but I really love the way Clip Studio uses their rulers. Rulers is sort of a misnomer because they really aren't used for measuring. They allow you to 'lock' your brush to a path.. it's super useful when free handing long sweeping curves or ellipses etc.

Honestly I kind of feel bad even suggesting things because this is such a powerful program. Thanks for all your work!

okay I thought I was crazy because I experienced this as well...

I am on iPad OS. Updating to the latest OS & latest ASP and this seemed to go away. That was my experience. GL!

Another painting

We improved antiliasing and taper in version 2.2 beta. Now stroke start/end is sharper, which makes it sometimes hardly visible.
I think it can be the problem. To improve that you can use higher 'Min Opacity, 'Min Flow' and 'Min Size' values or adjust their curves.

Yep looks like this is exactly what I was experiencing! I think I can change values around and get things to feeling the way they were.
I did notice in Procreate that they have a 'tip sharpness' toggle - something like that would be nice, but I realize that may be a difficult piece of code to abstract out.

Anyway, loving the rest of the beta!

If this happens again please give me even more details, i’m not sure if i get what you mean.

Okay tested on latest beta / same results. Basically my stroke doesn’t start where it should. It starts late. Also I cannot seem to achieve fully opaque color & looks like I’m not getting the full range of pressure. I’ll try and do another demo / diagram tomorrow to show what I’m experiencing.

I’m on an iPad Pro (latest) 12.9”, 2nd gen Apple Pencil. Also running iPadOS.
