That’s great!   :D

Hey there,

The View menu has 3 options under Selection. Quick mask, Marching ants and None.

I tried to use the third through a keyboard shortcut so I can hide the selection when needed and I realized that it doesn’t have a toggle behavior. Using the shortcut again doesn’t toggle back into revealing the selection (like for example the lock transparency keyboard shortcut works.) It stays hidden until you choose another option from the menu to reveal the selection again.

My suggestion would be to have basically 2 options of displaying selections (quick mask and marching ants) and use a visible/invisible toggle keyboard shortcut to go back and forth between your current choice of displaying selections and hiding them all together. Another solution would be to just include the selection visibility in the Show helpers on/off option which already has a toggle behavior.

Thank you once again for this amazing app. I’m literally working full time now on my iPad because of it.

Keep up the great work!

I’m covered on 2, 3, 4, 5

Suggestion num. 1 though was not to be able to paint on a locked or hidden layer. It’s having the option to unlock/reveal right then and there inside the warning box, instead of just pressing ok to dismiss it.

Sure, It would be really interesting to be able to take it for a test drive if there’s a need for beta testers.

I wouldn't mind paying in full again for a major update once a year or so (maybe as an in-app purchase) if that means I could provide further motive for the developers to keep going and support a healthier online business model that's not subscription based.

Suggestions, Ideas, Bugs / Some suggestions (iPad ver.)

1.After working in asp on a project involving a lot of layer locking and toggling layer visibility, I've faced countless times the warning messages about locked or hidden layers, informing me that I cannot edit them in their current locked or hidden state.
There is only an "ok" button on that warning and all it does is dismiss the warning message. After that you have to go back in the layer menus and make it right. Wouldn't it be better if there was another button on the warning message next to "ok" to unlock or reveal etc. right away instead of having to dismiss it and dive into the menus to fix it? I think it would be a nice workflow improvement.

2.  I can't find a way to save brushes specifically as wet or smudge or erasers, unless I add them to the starred favorite list. This would also be useful.

3. An even better and more elegant solution for the the above would be a similar to Procreate's long tap feature on the tools, allowing any selected brush to be used as wet, smudge or eraser almost instantly. This would be especially nice on the full painting mode, maybe even have it exclusively for that mode.

4. individual pressure curves per brush.

5. I would also love a more intuitive way to edit and move around files in the gallery. Maybe tasks like rename or duplicate or even just selecting the file could be done directly on each thumbnail with a long tap radial menu, Moving them in and out of folders with a simple drag and drop function would also be super.

Thank you! This app is getting better and better. :))

Hey congrats on the latest update! Some really great additions there!

I have the following issue. When I create a mask for an adjustment layer to paint in and out some of the effect of the adj. layer to the layers below, everything works fine. But when I try to restrict the adj. layer’s effect to just the underlying layer with a clipping mask, it turns all the painted parts of the mask of the adj. layer basically into a hole, masking out the underlying layer as well. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a workaround on that?

Thanks!

Suggestions, Ideas, Bugs / Adjustment layer masking problem.

Hey there, sorry if this has been asked again. I searched around and couldn’t find anything.

Here’s a scenario to better describe what’s my issue.

Let’s say you have a red circle on a layer and you create an adjustment layer on top with a clipping mask so that it affects only the circle layer underneath and nothing else. Let’s say you apply an HSL adj. layer and turn the circle blue.

Is there a way to mask only the adjustment layer so that I’m able to paint in or out the blue on that red circle?

Also: Extra suggestion. Would it be possible to long tap brush/eraser/smudge/wet paint to apply the currently selected brush between any of those? It’s a Procreate feature that’s incredibly comfortable in a painting workflow. It would be an absolute joy to have that on ASP.

Thanks!
The latest major update was amazing. It keeps getting better and better.

Don’t know if this helps (concerning issue number two)

I tried to add some adjustment layers all using clipping mask to affect the same layer underneath.

I found out that although no adjustment layer reacts correctly (or not at all) with the layer underneath on its own, if you start toggling on/off their layer visibility at random, some adjustment layers seem to interact with each other, partially affecting the layer underneath. Sometimes affecting just brightness levels and sometimes color variations.

I know it’s a bit chaotic and confusing but since I happened to see it I thought I should share it. Maybe it’ll inform you in a useful way in figuring out how to fix it.

Great idea and elegant design.

This could be an optional sidebar mode under prefs.

It definitely has my vote.

I admit this is kind of a nitpick.

I’ve been working with a keyboard these days and I’ve noticed that when you use the brackets to resize the brush, a dialog appears in the middle of the screen to give you visual feedback on your brush adjustment.

The thing is that when I work with just the iPad it makes perfect sense because I move my pen in order to use the bottom sliders so this dialog is not getting in the way of anything when it appears. But when I use the keyboard I don’t move my drawing hand from where it’s placed when resizing because my other hand rests on the keyboard adjusting the brush size on the fly.

The brush dialog in that case usually pops up somewhere under the tip of my pencil, right where all my focus is while drawing and it’s getting a bit distracting. It feels like an unnecessary pause in the workflow after a while.

Maybe the visual feedback when using the keyboard brackets could be to display just the cursor of the current brush on screen on the exact spot where the pencil touched last. I think that would make the experience much more seamless. A simpler way would be to not have the dialog at all, leaving the brush sliders at the bottom as the only visual feedback in that case.

I’m wondering if anyone else finds that annoying.

An intuitive solution to the zoom/pan while in transform mode would be to be able to touch and hold a specific area(button? Tool icon?) with the other hand in order to zoom/pan,
and on realease return to transform mode.

I think the global common brush toggle sounds like a much better solution.

Suggestions, Ideas, Bugs / Re: Left hand mode

Yeah, I just noticed this bug too. Show/hide colors bar applies always to what’s placed on the right. When on left hand mode it actually hides the tools instead.
