Title: Vertical Text?
Post by: Xntrick on October 21, 2018, 05:42:03 PM
I’m certain there used to be a way to type text vertically but I can’t find how to do it now. Help is appreciated!

If you mean normal text rotated by 90 degrees - use Edit>Transform.

If you mean letter-below-letter - there is no simple option for that, but you can make text area very narrow, or just tap Enter after each letter.

I accomplished (sort of) my mission by hitting enter after each letter but the spacing is not ideal. There should be an option for vertical typing of text other than hitting enter for each new line. Or at the least we should be able to adjust the line spacing between the letters to make it more compact. Reducing font size does not accomplish this satisfactorily

You can change line spacing - just  adjust Line Height value in More... popover.

There are of course workarounds to produce the desired effect.
But it would still be more efficient and user-friendly, to have the option of changing the orientation of text in the editor.
This is a pretty standard option in most art programs with text editors; and should probably be on the development list, somewhere.
