Option for bucket fill to sample both the reference layer(s) and the current layer
specifically useful for when there might be gaps in line art, you can fill the gap and then fill the lineart without having to modify the reference layer/group
-
Just mark current layer as reference.
-
This might explain it better. Essentially filling the gaps in the lineart with the same layer you’re using as colors

Similar feature is found in CSP but I definitely understand that it would be low priority compared to other features.

Sorry but i don't understand. Just select layers/groups you want to sample from, and mark them as a reference.
-
Unfortunately that’s still different than what I mean, apologies if I’m having trouble describing it. I do understand the function of selecting the sampling source
The request would be allowing someone to bucket fill “reference and current-layer” as opposed to “reference or current-layer”
-
Ok, but you can just turn on "Reference" for both current layer and some other layer.
-
You can’t though. Unless there is a setting for it that I can’t find, the “reference” ticker reverts to “off” on all other layers when you enable it on a new layer. It currently only works on one layer or group at a time unless I’m missing something.
I’m guessing the underline means that a layer is reference. You can see the underline going away in addition to the option getting reverted for that layer

Edit: it has been mentioned that you can do this through the select-multiple tool and not by toggling it per layer. That’s good enough for now
-
I can’t mark as “reference” multiple layers. It would be great though.
-
I had the same trouble a while ago. You have to select the layers you want and then press one of the selected layers’ thumbnail image and then turn on “Reference”.
-
So they have to be marked at once? Not very convenient. At least it works ^-^
Thanks!
