Loading RAW photo?
on: July 20, 2018, 01:09:32 PM
when I load a RAW photo from Photos on iPad Pro I am asked if I want to load the original RAW or the processed RAW. Whichever I select I get the same result which looks like the original RAW. Any changes I have made to the RAW file in Photos are not carried through to Artstudio Pro.

Take photo in low light condition, processed raw has much less noise.

Sorry, I don’t really understand your reply. Can you explain a bit more about what Artstudio is doing with RAW files. In particular I am interested in whether the RAW file imported into Artstudio retains all the information in the original file so that decent highlight recovery can be performed within Artstudio, or whether it is just importing the default rendition from IOS which may have already clipped highlight information.

Can anybody explain how RAW photos are handled? Or at least point me to some documentation?

You can assume Artstudio Pro loads original pixels from Raw photos. You can then adjust it by yourself, using adjustments and filters.
