Point of origin measurements missing in ASP.
on: July 01, 2021, 06:25:58 AM
I just noticed when turning on rulers that you can’t set the point of origin. This is a critical feature when using ruler guides in ANY application worth its salt. You have to be able to set the point of origin in any situation that requires measurement and ASP doesn’t have it. Therefore it’s practically useless to use the ruler for any serious measuring. I’m also noticing you can’t change the ruler units of measure. Right now it’s set to millimeters. But you can’t use inches. Why the lack of converting line measurements and switching between units of measure?

Edit: You CAN change the measurements of the rulers. Just click the top intersection on the left where the horizontal and vertical lines meet and you’ll get the option to change the measurements. But the point of origin is something that is still missing. If you draw an object on the canvas…you cannot set the origin of that object to zero and measure from that point on. You’re forced to calculate the measurement of the object to get the exact measurement of the object at the location where the object is. ASP needs to include the ability to get a point of origin for measuring objects.
