Wet Brush option
on: January 13, 2018, 10:57:59 AM
Could you allow an option to sample all layers like photoshop? I want the wet brush to pickup the colours from the layers below.

Btw.. This app is apsolutely fantastic! I’m blown away, such a pleasure to use, smooth, fast, no crashes and good performance all round. A great brush engine too. I’m really glad I bought it.

For version 1.1 we added option to “load canvas into brush”, also from other layer.
It will allow to paint like this:

I agree, to a point. In reality, I'd much prefer some kind of Pick Up Underlying Colour option, so that we at least have blending with underlying layers when using the Wet Paint tool. SAL would sample from all layers (layers above the current included), which can be troublesome. PUUC would enable blending with underlying layers.
Currently, the Wet Paint tool only blends with the content of the current layer... this means that whenever we add a new layer, we are effectively painting Wet On Dry, in regard to lower layers... for an oils technique this is not the way it should work.
At the very least, my hope is that the Wet Paint tool will be able to blend with the transparency/alpha of the current layer.

TimS - I already have this request on my rather long todo list. Maybe it will be added in version 1.2.

Wet brush doesn't work properly in 1.1. It offsets the stroke (without any offset selected in the prefer, and with pencil) and doesn't automatically pick the active color. Sorry, video doesn't record this.

Solved it. It goes away if you turn on the offset in prefs and specify 0,0 offset.
