No more custom fonts after iOS 14 update?
on: October 09, 2020, 12:47:44 AM
I rely on using custom fonts for work every day, and I install them directly into my iPad so all of my apps can use them instead of installing them into each app manually.

In iOS 14, app developers are supposed to adopt the UIFontPickerViewController API to use custom fonts. Apparently the Affinity apps have already done so and I’m getting a little too used to using Affinity Photo now, but would much rather be using Art Studio Pro.

I’m surprised I haven’t heard any mention of Art Studio’s custom fonts not working anymore and I hope this will be fixed eventually. I can’t possibly be the only one who has noticed, unless everyone is using Art Studio strictly as a painting and drawing app, or just using the pre-installed fonts.

THe problem is we are still supporting iOS 12, which doesn't support UIFontPickerViewController. And we don't want to support custom fonts in 2 different ways...
We will add UIFontPickerViewController in about 1 year, when we will drop support of iOS 12.
