Not keyboard, but you can toggle three finger swipe to change size/opacity. Vertical swipe for size, horizontal swipe for opacity. I don't remember if this is the default behaviour or if you can customize it. I find it quite useful actually.

Just that. It would be a nice quality-of-life improvement, having the option to set a custom KB shortcut to save a few taps/clicks and just have the layers panel and the Layer Options pop-up window open automatically, with the text input field already activated and ready to go. If it's already possible sorry for my ignorance, I think I've checked all the options in Preferences and didn't saw it.

Thanks in advance!

If you’re saving the files on iCloud or similar, it might have to do with that

I think that’s Apple’s thing. Though in the meantime, if you use column view you can select a file and see a bigger preview on the right

Not quite sure about going back to the brush tool by default. Many times I just use the lasso tool or whatever other selection tool a lot, so I don’t want to have to reselect it because it automatically goes to the brush after transforming

Downloading an image and then choosing the color is a great idea. Thanks!

Here’s a good resource to start with skin tones. https://youtu.be/m0GUYm6MlL8
It doesn’t only apply to comics, of course.

Here’s a screenshot of what the setting looks like in case you’re more visual like me.

Gotta love ASP’s customizability… btw amazing artwork!

Can you write where exactly it is featured? And in which country?

Germany.
There was some kind of “Top Art-Apps” list, like they often do (top Arcade Games, top productivity apps, and so on). Not the first time I’ve seen the art apps list, but it was indeed the first time I saw ASP among them. I don’t have the full details, as I didn’t pay much attention to it aside from noticing the app there, and now the list is gone…
But right now they have a story there too, something like “Your iPad as an art studio” where they tell you how you can use the iPad to create different kinds of graphic stuff, and among the usual featured apps is our favorite one! Yay!

2. Artstudio was not featured by Apple at all while they are featuring many other apps over and over again. Switching to free was almost necessary to increase app popularity.

Bingo! ASP is now being featured within the art apps on the App Store, and it’s easier to find… Apple do likes this free+subscription model (please don’t remove the lifetime license option)

You can already change the label on your custom shortcuts by simply tapping on their names. You can also assign a custom icon from the Apple SF Symbols library by just renaming it with the symbol’s actual name (see attached image). The full catalogue of SF Symbols is available on the App Store as an app. From there you can browse, choose and copy the name.

I would totally get the desktop version of ASP if I knew it was decently maintained. I was initially going to, but since I needed to upgrade my computer for that to happen as well, I delayed the purchase. Now I'm not so sure anymore, seeing that it gets little love lately, but I'd love to work seamlessly between devices using the same filetypes.

The inability to hide/disable the "recents" tab on the Files app is one of the most annoying things Apple has done with iPadOS, I don’t think ASP devs can change that inside the app. In my experience however, ASP has never jumped to any folder other than its own.

Suggestions, Ideas, Bugs / Suggestion: different workspaces
on: October 10, 2022, 07:20:24 AM
Hi again!
A bit off topic, but I wanted to say this first: I can’t be happier with the app and the updates we’re getting! I’m always spreading the word and trying to bring people to switch to ASP, the BEST drawing app on iPad by far!

Now for the suggestion: it would be nice for my workflow (and maybe for others as well) to be able to set different "workspaces" with a specific set of tools (and settings, maybe? But this might be trickier I suppose) for different stages of any given process. In my case, I’d like to have a sketching/inking workspace, a flatting/coloring one, and a painting/rendering one, each with a given set of tools/favorites on the toolbar, as they’re all quite different workflows and require a very different sets of tools. It would be a timesaver to be able to switch between them (let’s say through the preferences panel—>interface, probably?). This would allow for a more compact set of tools and presets for each stage of the process, without having to swipe through the toolbar and/or having way too many items in the quick menu.
Hope you might consider adding this! It would be cool to know also if more users are interested in this feature being added. Thanks in advance!
