Suggestions, Ideas, Bugs / Anything new on the horizon?
on: September 20, 2024, 07:44:20 PM
Just wondering...again...if there will be any updates to the desktop version of ASP? It's a wonderful app, but I still have to do quite a few work arounds to make it usable and somethings I just have to "deal with" and can't get around.

Any inkling of life would be appreciated!

Help / Is this software still being developed?
on: April 07, 2024, 04:37:58 PM
Haven't seen anything new lately. Or, many questions answered either. Just wondering if the software is still being developed.

I'm using the desktop version, which, other than pigment mixing, hasn't been touched in ages.

I love the software, but it still needs some simple improvements.

Any info would be appreciated!

Help / [Desktop] Blurry/Soft Brush Strokes
on: March 08, 2024, 02:05:59 PM
Hi...

I'm on the desktop version of ASP and I noticed the brush strokes are very soft or blurry. Any brush I choose. The documents are 300 ppi, so not low res.

Anyone else notice this, or is it just the way ASP works?

Thanks.

Suggestions, Ideas, Bugs / [Desktop] Color Picking/Reference
on: February 11, 2024, 04:26:05 PM
I know I've asked this a few times in a few ways, but I've narrowed it down to three options that would work and would hope one of them could be implemented without much difficulty.

1. Multiple canvasses visible at the same time. One can be used as a reference and you can color pick from it.
2. Actually open a reference image, which can be color picked from.
3. The ability to use the color picker (eye dropper) outside of the application so you can pick colors from images on the desktop or in something like PurRef which is used for reference images.

Hopefully, one of these options can be implemented into the desktop version soon!

Thanks.

Are there any plans to make it possible to open a reference image in ASP desktop version? Or, at the very least, show two open documents side by side, rather than only seeing one at a time?

I can't believe it's that difficult to show two documents open together.

By the lack of responses lately, I guess you're not going to be developing the desktop version much more. I know the tablet version is the money maker, but it would be nice to see something being done with the desktop version.

Thanks.

Help / (Desktop Version) LUT From Photo
on: July 12, 2023, 04:42:07 PM
Is it possible to get a LUT or color palette from a photo? Since color picking from a photo is a little cumbersome, this would at least get the colors from the photo into a color palette for use in painting.

Thanks.

Is there a way to see two (multiple) documents at the same time? It seems you can only click on one at a time and the other is hidden.

I'm trying desperately to use this app as my main painting app, but I keep hitting roadblocks that never seem to be addressed.

Thanks.

Is there a way to bring in a reference image into ASP on MAC? I can't see two open windows at the same time, so I figures there was another way to bring in a reference image.

Thanks.

Help / Mac: Locked Layers are Affected By Layers Above
on: March 13, 2023, 03:30:55 PM
Hi...

I like to have a layer that has color on it as a background that I don't actually paint on. It's locked (all three places). If I paint on a Pigment layer above the locked layer, it affects the Pigment layer.

Ex. Locked layer is filled solid blue. I paint yellow on a Pigment layer above it and it mixes with it to make green.

Is there a way to avoid this?

Help / Mac: Keep Document to One Side of Interface
on: March 11, 2023, 07:28:15 PM
I can't seem to keep the document I'm working on to the right or left of the interface. It always pops back to the center if I move anything. I use reference images which cover the canvas and some of the palettes take up a lot of screen space (which UI was more customizable).

Not talking about Tile Window. That's something different.

Thanks!

Suggestions, Ideas, Bugs / Further Development on Mac Version
on: February 23, 2023, 01:17:11 PM
Just wondering how much development there will be on the Mac version? I ask questions in the forums and never seem to get answers.

The pigment mixing is great, but the Mac version needs quite a few improvements to make it "every day usable".

Help / ASP: Desktop: How/Where do I bring in a reference image?
on: February 03, 2023, 03:04:49 PM
Similar to my other question, but where can I bring in a reference image into ASP on the desktop?

There seems to be different options on the IOS version as opposed to the desktop version.

Thanks.

I'm using the desktop version of ASP, so I don't know if there's the same thing in the iOS version, but under the Layer drop down and Layer palette, there's an option for Reference. I've selected it, but not sure what it does? It doesn't seem to do anything?

I was hoping that it would make it possible to open a reference image into a separate window (which would be something to hopefully add i the future)

Any insight would be appreciated!

Suggestions, Ideas, Bugs / ASP For Mac Separate Section?
on: January 17, 2023, 04:28:40 PM
I was wondering if it's worth having a separate section for the desktop version of ASP.

I have the desktop version and many times the IOS and Mac versions are very different. For instance, the manual is for the IOS and I have questions that aren't answered there.

Suggestions, Ideas, Bugs / ArtStudioPro Mac version
on: December 17, 2022, 01:57:09 PM
Hi...

Are you still developing the Mac desktop version? Is there a v5 for desktop?

I've been playing with ArtRage and Krita (Photoshop is my main painting app) and the brushes in ArtStudioPro are much better, in my opinion, than either of those apps. I'd hate to put time in the desktop version of ASP if it's not going to be developed any longer.

Thanks!
