right now theres no option for this.... as far as im aware
i want to be able to make perfect circles/squares with the drawing mode option for brushes.
and perhaps straight lines (at every 30° angles?)
i saw others talking about wanting a modifier button, this would be perfect for that! holding the modifier button while using the brush to keepthe aspect ratio 1:1 (square) or lines straight  ;D

Suggestions, Ideas, Bugs / Changing theme?
on: October 20, 2018, 04:16:19 PM
In the latest major update, a darker theme was added. How can I change the theme back to a lighter color. I checked the preferences, and its not there. I genuinely cant stand dark UIs as the contrast between a white canvas and the background strains my eyes. I haven't been able to properly use ArtStudio (ipad) since the update because of this.

hello! i recently got an iphone with 3d touch and of course i tried out apps to use it for drawing...
turns out art studio is my favourite art application even on a tiny screen.

a few suggestions....  a dedicated eraser button or a eraser/brush toggle button! right now i have to press the tool button, then press eraser. this is quite annoying if you erase a lot.

also..
a quicker way to pick colors, as the only way is from a full-screen color picker that is annoying because i cant see my work as i pick a color to make sure it suits it... also having to press close is just unneccesary

a suggestion i have is to maybe have swatches like on ipad, OR having a slider on the side (see attached image) and pressing a button (like a little arrow by the slider) to add other sliders (saturation, lightness) to the screen that disappear once you tap away.
this way the full detailed color menu is still there, but you can quickly pick colors another way :)

another thing i would like is line constraints... making lines only on certain angles. there is a line tool, but theres no way currently to make sure it goes 90°. a UI suggestion i have is to have the line tool normally, and tap with another finger to 'activate' constrained lines of 45° angles, for example

another thing i wanted to mention was a quick menu, as navigating all the different options and filters on iphone is exhausting (id imagine especially if youre new to the app), but i believe youve mentioned its in the works, so THANK YOU!

another minor gripe i have is on iPad, i always accidentally press the clone brush button because in my mind the eraser should be next to it ^^;
if theres an ability to edit the toolbar, move things around or hide tools you dont use often, that would be cool but its not a huge deal.

thanks again for making an awesome app and continuing to work on it to make it even mroe awesome :) ❤️

While gradient presets are nice, id love for there to be an option to default/set the gradient tool to be [foreground color -> background color] or [foreground color -> transparent]
as it is, the only way to use the color I am currently using in a gradient is to copy the color code and paste it again.

another suggestion I have is to be able to move things such as patterns and brushes into other groups. You can duplicate patterns into other groups but a drag-and-drop way to move all my favourite patterns into one group would be very helpful.

one more thing id like to suggest is expanding the brush dynamics- such as adding a curve for the pressure sensitivity or velocity, or the ability to add more then 1 (or 2 if you use the 'finger' dynamics) options for a certain dynamic.

Thank you again for your hard work, regardless of these minor things I would like to see improved artstudio has become my favourite art iOS app over procreate and everything else ive tried!

im using the iPad version.
right now theres only 'pulled string' smoothing, which is useful but when i'm doing linework its disorienting to have to move my pen further than where i want it to end up.

other programs have their smoothing 'catch up' to the pen, smoothing the stroke to be an average of the movement, like procreate or medibang. SAI is an example lf a software on desktop that does this as well.
