Maybe start with a global curve and see how it works before considering a per-brush curve?  :)

Speaking for myself, I am happy with the global curve setting in Procreate or CSP, for example. I’m mainly interested in getting the Apple Pencil to be at the right sensitivity for my hand. I find that I do tweak it a bit during use according to what I’m doing, and that is where I could see it being handy to attach a curve to a brush. But I’d still be happy with a global setting.

Affinity Photo has a pressure curve available for each brush option on each brush, but I didn’t need that much control myself. I’d have rather had a global setting there. (I didn’t find one.)

I second this. I was trying to blend colors to make a painted blended effect, which relies on opacity via pen pressure. I was having a hard time getting the desired opacity effect relative to other software and I think that would be alleviated through a pressure curve. A global option would be fine from my viewpoint.

Thank you for considering these suggestions.

Suggestions, Ideas, Bugs / Layer select?
on: October 07, 2018, 01:00:01 PM
Hi,

What’s the best way to select a layer? When I select all, the entire canvas is selected, rather than the active layer.

I did find the layer select alpha menu item, which selects the layer pixels. This worked well for selecting a solid rectangle on its own Layer, but when I alpha selected some thin items (thin lines that are tree trunks in a painting) and scaled the layer, some ghost lines were left behind. I assume the selection didn’t hit everything.

Ideally, I envisioned automatically selecting a rectangule whose boundaries are defined by the outermost pixels on each edge of the canvas. However, I’ll settle for selecting the alpha if the edges are fully included. :)

Thank you for your help as well as your ongoing work to support Art Studio Pro.

+1 for fully locked layers. I use this in all software, from Photoshop to Procreate. I too often find myself painting on a wrong layer, so I will commonly lock my background and my sketch in particular. Very handy. I’m surprised this hasn’t been requested more often.
