Title: Colors keep changing.

I’m trying to work on a new layer. I added the layer, selected the calligraphy brush and created a color. As soon as I put my pen to the screen, the color switches to black, and even then, the black line I’m drawing doesn’t happen.  I made sure the new layer was selected.  I’ve tried saving the new color as a swatch, but I can’t get it to work.  What am I doing wrong?  Thanks.

Could you record the problem on video?

It was a newbie error.  Sorry.  Now what I can’t figure out is how to get the Apple Pencil to show up. It has disappeared and I can’t get it back.

Probably you have to charge it and/or pair with ipad.
