Title: Navigation & User Experience
Post by: Simon Bromfield on August 06, 2018, 08:04:47 AM
Seamlessly selecting & searching for values can at times be a little tedious due to the crammed arrangement of options. So as an improvement, could the values be spaced out to utilise all the empty side space? Using vertical bars may also help with navigation, similar to Photoshop.

In addition, the colour / layer panel disappears as soon as I place my pencil on the canvas. So when making a number of adjustments to a certain colour / layer, I have to continuously re-open their respective panels just to make a small edit. A solution could be the ability to have these panels open as a separate window, so that they could be kept open & be moved around.

The ability to adjust the color theme to something darker could also be helpful in reducing eye strain & make the tools seemingly less intrusive and more discreet.

As a side note, I apologise for my seemingly overcritical take on Artstudio Pro, but it is the only app I find that is meticulous in its features & accessibility (ABR, TPL, ASE, the list goes on), meaning that I depend on the app quite a bit as a desktop alternative.

Thank you for your consideration.

Another solution for keeping the color wheel open could be the “Pin” option, which is used in Affinity Designer. With the option enabled, the color wheel stays open even when the vector tool brush is used or when zooming in or out.

Thanks for your suggestions. I will add a kind of "pinned panels" in Artstudio Pro version 2.0.

Yes that would be such a useful feature for productivity, a great time saver to have some panels always open instead of clicking the icon all the time.
I know it's still early but hope version 2.0 will not be tooo far away.
Thanks:)

+1, but the pinned panels also have to be unpinned if necessary.
