Title: HSB Sliders instead of swatches in color toolbar option
Post by: mattnava on July 15, 2018, 02:56:58 PM: I read this idea mentioned in an old thread and wanted to see if it was still on your radar. I think this would be a fantastic improvement to the color toolbar for quick color selection and hope to see it in the program!

I imagine it as three vertical sliders for hue, saturation, and value, stacked vertically in the toolbar. I created a mock-up image with the HSB Color Toolbar to make sure the idea is clear.

Ive found that so many art apps hide the HSB sliders in a pop up window and Ive always wanted something as direct as the ubiquitous brush size/opacity sliders for color.

Here's a stretch goal: Imagine if these sliders were live - meaning that on an iPad, you could adjust them with one hand while you draw with the other. You could do things like subtly change the brightness up and down mid-stroke as you go. It could be neat for shading and other effects, and would really be a unique feature among current art apps!

Live colors - maybe later, there are technical/perofmance difficulties to implement it quickly.

It will be a very practical addition :)
Will look forward to 1.4, I'm sure it's still a bit early :)

Of course it is optional, swatches will be displayed there by default.

Maybe stretch them vertically juuust a little bit ? so the user can choose the right Hue more easily

Would it be possible to have an option to use either HSL, RGB or LAB sliders?

That would pull me 100% to Artstudio Pro since I only use RBG or LAB sliders.
