I added this request to ideas list. We will consider adding this feature in a future. But don't expect it soon.

As an architect I would use PDF import frequently. After spending a few hours with Artstudio Pro it's the only feature I've found to be "missing".

Yes, it is absolutely possible. iOS gives all functions needed to open on convert PDF to image. We will consider adding that in the next major update.
