Title: Rename document. Save to a new location.
Post by: Leonid Deburger on February 23, 2022, 10:15:01 AM
Hey

Is it possible to rename the currently opened document(s) without going to the file browser? Before the update, it was possible to rename opened (or newly created) documents in the ‘opened window’ panel after tapping ‘edit’. Is it a bug or it was disabled on purpose? Why do we have ‘edit' then?

Is it possible to save opened document to a new location (like ‘save as’ and then choose where to, and add a new name)? I mean without using the file browser.

Is it possible to open PNGs as a new document from the built-in file browser? If not, can we have it?
Like: Open png from anywhere on the device (e.g. download folder), edit png (add layers, etc.), be asked about saving on autosave or document close -> add the new name, and choose a new location on that prompt.) And also to be able to save files after editing as same png (merged layers, etc.) in the same location.

We had to remove that because of the system limitations.

It was possible before, and it is still possible but only when storing documents in:
On My iPad > Artstudio Pro
iCloud Drive > Artstudio Pro
However we cannot do it in any other folder... That's why we just removed that option from menu, and it is now possible only in the Browser

Thanks for the reply.
And what about ‘save as’? Is it possible to open png< edit and save as .psd or jpg in new location?

You can open, or rather import png, and export it in psd/jpg format. It will work, however you have to remember that this creates new .artstudio document.

Thanks for the reply.
