Since yesterday's update I am not able to pick any brush set (not even the standard ones like Airbrush), I just get the loading symbol and nothing happens.
I must admit, I have added tons of brushes in a big amount of sorted brush sets, and I have some brush sets that used about 10 seconds to load, but I cannot switch to other groups at all at the moment, regardless if they took short or long to load before.
I tried restarting the app, the ipad, opened different projects/images, but I can't pick any brush sets (switching to another brush in the currently selected brush set works fine though)
Edit: Also I can't cancel the app trying to load the brush. So no other touch or pencil gestures work, I can only watch the loading animation or leave the app

Isn’t there a timeout option in the settings for this? And if there currently isn’t an option to limit the loading time of brush sets then this is definitely something that needs to be implemented. I haven’t’ experienced this issue but the fact you have tells me the concern about loading too many brush sets could cause the app to hang is a valid concern.
It’s too bad currently ASP doesn’t allow you to uncheck brush sets to load so you save memory. Because right now the only thing you can do is delete the brushes and that’s it. But browsers have the addin feature to manually uncheck plug ins to help the memory load when starting the browser. I think ASP should consider adding this option for brush sets. So this way the user can uncheck brush sets between sessions to save memory without deleting the brushes. It would also help in locating brush sets having memory issues causing ASP to crash or have memory problems. So having this option in settings would be very helpful.

We are working on this now. However we cannot reproduce the issue...
Do you have any idea when can it start happening?
-
Must have started after the last update, because I use ASP daily and it only just started yesterday
-
Yes, but it must be a very rare case and i cannot repeat the issue on my iPads...
-
Maybe there is something in custom brushes.
Please do the following test if possible:
Open Files app, and go to:
On My iPad > Artstudio Pro > User Resources > Presets > Brushes
Then temporary move all brush files somewhere so Artstudio will not see it.
Then launch Artstudio and test if the issue is still happening.
Another idea:
Activate each tool and tap View > Tool > Reset Tool (do it for every tool that use a brush: Paint, Wet Paint, Smudge, Eraser). Then close app, start it again and check if the freezing is still there.

The bug persists :/ Moved all custom stuff (some gradients) as well, no change :/
And also resetted all tools
Edit: Wait, I have an iOS update that I didn't see before, let me see if that solves it
-
So which iOS version did you use before?
-
I usually keep it to the current iOS, so should have been 14.6 before
-
14.6 is being reported as a serious battery drain. But only on iPhones. So far I haven’t heard anything about the iPads being affected. This might be a rare case when it does.

Artstudio doesn't keep in memory all brush groups, only the active one (in fact the one that each tool uses)

Just checked, so after the update I am on 14.6 (so it was 14.5.1 before)
With both versions: Same bug :/

Ok, can you send me a screen video (use system screen recording) showing the freeze? Send it by email: [email protected]

Thanks, i'm doing exactly the same steps but everything is working fine...
