Title: Adjusting a rectangle, or other shape

I know this has to be simple, but I just haven’t been able to find the function. Often, when I create a rectangle (or some other shape) when I let go of my cursor it still needs some minor adjustments to make it right. Maybe moving an edge one way of the other which will change the aspect ratio. Or, maybe just changing the size slightly, keeping the aspect ratio. But not distorting the shape. I’ve tried the Move tool and transform menu, but haven’t been able to locate this simple task.
