Title: Frequent lag on canvas rotation/layer select/zoom/tool select
Post by: Gabriel_dubhtattoo on January 14, 2021, 01:55:16 PM
Basically any tool can trigger this, but normally the most prevalent being rotate/zoom and select layer.  The selection freezes, other options are functional, takes a few moments and then proceeds.

This is highly disruptive to a creative flow.

I’m using the latest update with an iPad Pro 1st generation 128gb regularly cleaned and optimised with apple 1st generation pencil.

Any ideas?

Thank you for the fine piece of software/painting instrument

Have the same behavior on ipad pro 3rd gen. I see it mostly on eye dropper by double tap pencil 2nd gen. Generally cross show up like 0.2 sec (of course it’s not estimated but its quite fast), but once a 1-2 minutes there is significant longer time for eye dropper cross to show up like 1 sec or smth.

Also, if I work more then an hour or two, app become very unresponsive and laggy. So, I close it and start again. And it feels good again. So, kind of memory leaks maybe.

Mine slows down once in a while while moving the brush sliders, the app slows down and the slider moves in slow motion until it reaches the point where I actually moved it. Lasso tool also sometimes produces lines zig zagging at 90 degree angles like it is moving around square clusters of pixels. 2nd gen 12.9 ipad pro

I have also experienced on several occasions the auto-save not working when exiting the app and returning.  It is set to auto-save on exit but like I say, sometimes very occasionally it doesn't save a few minutes of work which can be very frustrating...
