Title: Pan Finger Function Suggestion

Is it possible to not switch to the Pan tool when setting the finger function gesture to "Pan" just like when using the two finger pan gesture? I ask this because every time I switch to the eraser by double tapping the apple pencil and then pan using the Pan finger function gesture, whenever I double tap the apple pencil and try to switch back to the brush tool I instead switch back to the pan tool and it gets really frustrating.
